2:45-4p.m. Hanby House Tour
Benjamin Hanby composed more
than 80 songs, including "Darling Nelly Gray" and Up on the
Housetop". His family's home, which was a stop on the Underground
Railroad, is now a museum containing five rooms of original antiques from the
Civil War era and some of Ben's original instruments, musical scores and
personal artifacts. The Hanby House also features a "kitchen garden"
made up of plants from 1850-1890. Guests can see, smell and sometimes taste the
culinary, medicinal, dye, fragrance, herbs and vegetables from the late 19th
Century. $2 per person. AAA and Senior discounts available.
