In 2026, Westerville will play a meaningful role in the nationwide America250 commemoration, marking the 250th anniversary of the United States through a citywide public art initiative. At the heart of the effort is the America250 Westerville Mural Project, a series of large-scale vinyl murals designed to honor the people, places, and perspectives that have shaped the community.
Set to be installed throughout Westerville in May and June, the murals will highlight both well-known and under-told chapters of the city’s history, inviting residents and visitors to engage with the past through compelling visual storytelling. Created by Ohio artists and inspired by community-driven themes, the project transforms everyday spaces into vibrant canvases that reflect Westerville’s heritage, encourage exploration, and inspire deeper connections to the community.
