This year, Westerville’s 4th of July celebration takes on a special significance as the Rotary Club of Westerville marks its 63rd year leading the festivities. With the theme “Stars, Stripes & Freedom Unite,” chosen by Mark Twain Elementary first-grader Ahmed Adu-Bediako, the day promises to be a memorable homage to patriotism and unity. Starting with the 5K Walk/Run at 7:30 a.m. at the Westerville Athletic Complex, the day will unfold with a morning parade stepping off at 10:30 a.m. on State Street. Events like the free Fun Zone, featuring patriotic performers and games, the free Concert Series and Food Truck Festival from 5 to 9:45 p.m. further add to the daylong revelry. As the sun sets, the atmosphere becomes even more magical with the city’s renowned fireworks display, making Westerville the perfect destination to celebrate Independence Day in grand style.
